In a harrowing incident that has shaken the community of Xholora township, Stutterheim, a three-year-old boy was found lifeless, hanging from a tree on Father’s Day. Siyanda Magagu, 35, who had been a father figure to young Anganam Magxwalisa since infancy, is accused of this unthinkable act.The events unfolded after Magagu reportedly took Anganam from his cousin under the pretense of buying sweets. This followed a dispute with the child’s mother. The family’s spokesperson, Babalwa Goroleki, expressed their disbelief and anguish over the betrayal by someone they trusted and who showed affection towards Anganam.Lieutenant-Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa confirmed that the police were alerted by the mother about her missing son, leading to the grim discovery. Magagu, a local taxi driver, was apprehended early Sunday.The Eastern Cape NPA’s Luxolo Tyali stated that Magagu faced kidnapping and murder charges and remains in custody. This incident comes just a week after another child was brutally murdered nearby, marking a dark period for the region.The community mourns young Anganam Magxwalisa, whose life was tragically stolen.
